Ever since graduating from the prestigious Munich Film School, I spend my time moving back and forth between film and still photography. I believe that my work as a director, storyteller and screenwriter of feature films is very visible in my work as a photographer. The pictures I take often seem to be stills of a larger story that transcends the frames of one particular image: The people in them appear to be characters in a larger narrative, and the locations have a strange magnetism that goes beyond being merely 'pretty' backdrops. All the elements in the frame become part of larger and strangely haunting world, where the people have very particular "characters", and dark, mysterious relationships with each other, which emotionally engage the viewer, and make him curious to see more.
